1 critically injured in north Columbus shooting

Police said they were called about a shooting in the area of Morse and Karl roads around 5:40 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was injured in a north Columbus shooting on Tuesday.

Police said they were called about a shooting in the area of Morse and Karl roads around 5:40 p.m.

Officers found the victim and took them Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Police later learned the shooting happened in the area of Morse Road and Evanswood Drive. The victim was sitting inside a vehicle when they were shot.

Additional information was not immediately available.

This was the first of three shootings within a six-hour period on Tuesday.

About an hour later, a shooting in the 1000 block of Atcheson Street in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood left two males dead. Police said the victims are in their late teens or early 20s.

Witnesses told police a male was seen running east from Atcheson Street.

Around 11 p.m., two 25-year-old men were injured after being shot during an altercation at a south Columbus apartment complex on East Morrill Avenue. The suspect left the scene after the shooting.

One of the men dead from his injuries. The other man is expected to be OK.
