Woman injured after car crashes into Columbus apartment

A person is in custody, but Columbus police did not say if the person was a suspect or a person of interest.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman was injured after her car crashed into an apartment building in Columbus on Sept. 3, according to police. 

The crash happened in the 1300 block of Dennison Avenue around 1:40 a.m.

According to police, the driver ran a stop sign in the area of Clark Place and Dennison Avenue and crashed into the apartment's living room.

The woman, who was inside the apartment, was pushed under the car and firefighters pulled her out from underneath, police wrote in a report.

She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.  Police described her condition as stable.

A person is in custody, but Columbus police did not say if the person was a suspect or a person of interest.

According to the police report, alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.

No charges have been filed.
