PERRY COUNTY, Ohio — A 74-year-old man is dead after crashing his pickup truck in Perry County Sunday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
OSHP says the single-vehicle crash happened on Palomino Road in Reading Township just before 5 p.m.
Alan Mowery was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado southeast on Palomino Road when he did not follow the turning pattern of a curve. He went off the left side of the road and struck a tree before his vehicle caught on fire.
OSHP says Mowery was not wearing a seatbelt and was trapped inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
