HILLIARD, Ohio — The Hilliard Division of Police identified the person who died when a car overturned into a pond in Norwich Township Friday morning as a 27-year-old man.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Division of Fire were called to Renner Road near Alton Darby Creek Road in Norwich Township before 12:40 a.m. for a water rescue.
When deputies and medics arrived, they found a vehicle overturned in a pond in the area. Jonathan Waller was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a crash report, Waller was heading westbound on Renner Road when his car went off the road, went into a ditch, struck a culvert and then landed upside down in the pond.
