Man killed, 2 injured in southeast Columbus crash involving COTA bus

Officers were called to the intersection of East Livingston Avenue and Eastmoor Boulevard around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a crash.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash involving a COTA bus on the city's southeast side Tuesday night, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the intersection of East Livingston Avenue and Eastmoor Boulevard around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a crash.

Police said the bus was stopped on East Livingston Avenue, just west of Wellesley Road. Meanwhile, 24-year-old Kevin Jones drove east on East Livingston Avenue in a Toyota Corolla and rear-ended the bus.

Jones was taken to Grant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital. 

The driver of the COTA bus and a bus passenger were taken to Grant Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Police described their conditions as stable. 

Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.
