Former Ohio State QB Art Schlichter arrested on drug charges in Linden area

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State University quarterback Art Schlichter was arrested in Columbus after authorities found illegal drugs inside his vehicle.

A trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped after seeing a disabled vehicle on East Hudson Street and Hamilton Avenue in the Linden area.

Records from the Franklin County Municipal Court state that the trooper saw drug paraphernalia and Schlichter gave them a crack pipe out of his pocket.

The trooper then searched the vehicle and found a silver paper fold with small white rocks. Schlichter told them they were “crack” rocks, according to court records.

Schlichter was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a fifth-degree felony. He is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court on Feb. 12.
