National Weather Service confirms 5 tornadoes in Ohio during Wednesday's storms

No injuries were reported in any of the tornadoes.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service confirmed that at least five tornadoes touched down in Ohio during Wednesday's storms. 

Delaware County

An EF1 tornado touched down in Delaware County. The tornado occurred in the far southeast part of the county in Harlem Township, according to the NWS. Maximum winds were estimated to be 90 mph.

Crews are still surveying the area and more information could be released later.

Most of the storm damage was confined to homes on Fancher Road. The Harlem Township Division of Fire posted pictures on Facebook showing the damage from the tornado.

Crawford County

An EF1 tornado touched down in Bucyrus. The tornado started near the bend of Kerstetter Road and West Southern Avenue. The tornado was on the ground for about 3.5 miles, ripping up trees and damaging multiple buildings. The tornado reached max wind speeds of 110 mph and was about 100-yards wide. The tornado ended in the area of Beechgrove Road northeast of U.S. Highway 30.

Portage County

An EF1 tornado touched down in Portage County. The tornado started near the intersection of state Route 303 and Stanley Road in Windham.

Downed trees and damaged roofs and buildings were reported in the area. 

Champaign County

An EF0 tornado was confirmed to have touched down in Champaign County. Some tree damage and minor structural damage were reported on Perry Road, north of U.S. 36.

No injuries were reported in any of the tornadoes.

Trumbull County

An EF0 tornado Champion Township with max wind speeds of 80 mph. The tornado touched down near state Route 305, east of Hoffman Norton Road. Damage in the area included significant damage to a garage, roofs and trees. The tornado was on the ground for just under three miles before ended in the area of Downs Road NW.

Wednesday’s storms triggered several tornado warnings and watches in central Ohio. The severe weather also brought heavy rain, prompting flood advisories and flash flood warnings in Hocking, Pickaway and Ross counties.

The NWS will also survey Johnstown in Licking County.
