DETROIT — Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. was selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns Thursday night.

From 2021-23, Hall played 28 games and started 11 times. He had 45 career tackles with 10 tackles-for-losses along with six sacks.

The junior had 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season and he was named third-team all-Big Ten Conference. His season was cut short due to a broken hand.

Hall had a solid 2022 campaign when he played 12 games. Despite lingering injuries, he recorded 19 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Hall was the first pick made by the Browns in the 2024 draft.

Despite being listed as a DT, he sometimes played defensive end or played over the center as a nose tackle.

The Streetsboro, Ohio native is regarded as an explosive player who gets off the ball quickly and impressive agility. Some scouting reports knocked Hall for recognizing block schemes too late and having his hands below his waist which allows offensive linemen to get to his chest.
