COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden has announced his plans to transfer to Colorado.

Hayden joined the Buckeyes in June 2022. He was a four-star recruit who ranked nationally among the top 25 running backs in the class of 2022.

Hayden is a junior who had 663 rushing yards and six touchdowns over two seasons.

He posted a photo to Instagram on Monday saying, “Going to play for Prime Time hope the Big 12 play Prevent.”

In his true freshman season, Hayden played in 10 games and earned his first Varsity O letter.  He was the team’s third-leading rusher in 2022 with 553 yards and a 5.0 yards-per-carry average of 111 carries and five touchdowns.

His dad, Aaron Hayden, played at Tennessee and in the NFL for San Diego, Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Hayden was just one of two Buckeyes who entered the transfer portal during its 15-day spring window.

Safety Cedrick Hawkins, a Florida native, entered the portal and committed to Central Florida.

During the winter window, 20 players from Ohio State enter the portal with 19 leaving the team.
