ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Three people, including a juvenile, were killed when the vehicle they were in was struck by a semitruck in Ross County on Monday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Just after 4:30 p.m., a 2022 Kenworth semitruck was heading west on U.S. Route 35. A 2018 Nissan Rogue, driven by 56-year-old Deanna Early, of Charleston, West Virginia, was heading east on the road attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street.

Early did not yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by the semitruck. Her vehicle was forced off the right side of the road, where it struck a guardrail and a tree.

Early died from her injuries in the crash. Two other passengers, 51-year-old Donovan Larson and a juvenile, also died. The driver of the semitruck was not injured.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson Township and Liberty Township fire departments and the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted OSHP at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
