Police: 19-year-old man killed in north Columbus shooting

There is no suspect information at this time.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 19-year-old man is dead after a shooting in north Columbus Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting to the 1100 block of East 18th Avenue, located in the South Linden neighborhood, just before 12:10 p.m.

Police found the victim, identified as Royce Gilbert, suffering from a gunshot wound. Gilbert was transported to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:51 p.m.

There is no suspect information at this time.
