OSHP says the single-vehicle crash happened just before 11 p.m. near Connor Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 16-year-old is dead after crashing a truck on U.S. Route 36 in Union County Saturday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

OSHP says the single-vehicle crash happened just before 11 p.m. near Connor Road.

A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Blake Gorton, of Woodstock, was heading southwest on Route 36 when it reportedly crossed the center line and went off the left side of the road.

The truck then hit a guardrail end, causing it to overturn down an embankment. OSHP says the truck was submerged in Treacle Creek.

Gorton died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
