Suspect wanted in Hilltop homicide turns himself in to police

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The suspect wanted in a Hilltop area homicide turned himself in to police Thursday night.

According to Columbus police, they were called to the 100 block of North Oakley Avenue around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Ronald Jones shot multiple times and unresponsive.

Medics pronounced Jones dead at 10:58 p.m.

Witnesses at the scene identified the suspect as 32-year-old Dwight Turner, Jr.

Authorities said Turner left the scene. 

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
