Powell man charged after body found inside home

The person found dead inside the home was later identified as 33-year-old Arazeia Richardson, of Columbus.

POWELL, Ohio — Police in Delaware County filed a murder charge against a Powell man after a person was found dead inside a home earlier this week.

On Monday, the Powell Police Department responded to a home on Thornbury Lane, located in The Chase subdivision off Powell Road. Officers found a person inside, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person was later identified as 33-year-old Arazeia Richardson, of Columbus. While police did not provide specific details regarding the cause of death, evidence has led detectives to say that Richardson was murdered.

An arrest warrant was issued for 31-year-old Brandon Toleque, of Powell.

Toleque is currently in custody in Marshall County, Indiana. He is charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of cocaine or narcotics and confinement. Police did not say if the charges stem from Monday’s incident.

Police said he will be extradited to Delaware County at a later date and additional charges may be filed later.
