Man held on $1 million bond after allegedly injuring woman, 2-year-old in attempted burglary

Andre Sallee is scheduled to appear in court on May 3.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is charged with aggravated burglary after allegedly breaking into a woman's south Columbus apartment, attempting to steal from her and injuring both her and her 2-year-old child Tuesday evening, according to Franklin County court documents.

Records state that just before 9:50 p.m., the woman was in her home with her 2-year-old child when someone kicked her door in. The woman said that the man, identified as Andre Sallee, came in and demanded her cellphone.

When she refused, Sallee attempted to take the TVs that are mounted in her living room and her bedroom, documents say. When Sallee began to leave, the woman told him she was going to call the police and that he was going to jail.

Sallee then came back inside the apartment and proceeded to punch the woman at least twice in the face while she was holding her child, according to records. During the incident, the child was injured and taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Records state the child suffered a skull fracture and a brain bleed.

Sallee is being held on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 3.
