$2 million bond issued for man accused of killing woman in 'brutal attack' at north Columbus hotel

Arthur Scott Jr. is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Franklin County judge issued a $2 million bond for a man charged in connection with the deadly "brutal attack" of a woman at a north Columbus hotel.

Arthur Scott Jr., 36, was charged with murder, rape and kidnapping for the death of 61-year-old Li-Chu Lin.

Court documents state that officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the Double Ten Hotel at 6125 Zumstein Drive on April 26 on a report of a woman who was found dead. When officers arrived, they found Lin who had injuries from a "brutal attack."

According to court documents, investigators obtained video from the hotel showing Scott walking down the hallway checking for unlocked doors. He then entered a room and Lin entered the same room shortly afterward. After an unknown period of time, Scott was seen on video leaving the room.

Lin was found naked inside the room with apparent physical injuries. Detectives found evidence that other crimes, including rape, had occurred.

On Saturday, Scott was found within a short distance of the hotel and was taken into custody. While being questioned, court records state that he admitted to Lin's murder and other crimes.

Scott is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.
