Police ID victim killed in east Columbus shooting

Saadiq Teague, 20, was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:33 p.m., according to Columbus police.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police have identified the man who died after a shooting on the east side of Columbus Monday afternoon.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, dispatchers received a call at 12:26 p.m. about shots fired on South Hampton Road. The caller told police someone was firing from inside of a vehicle.

Once medics arrived on the scene, 20-year-old Saadiq Teague was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:33 p.m.

No information on a possible suspect has been released. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
