Eggs, Paws and Claws returns to Columbus Zoo

Kids who want to participate in the event should grab an activity map at the tent just inside the zoo’s turnstiles.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s annual spring event is returning this month.

Eggs, Paws and Claws will kick off the zoo’s 2024 spring season on March 29-30. The two-day event brings the Easter Bunny to the zoo for photos. Guests can also watch Eggbert and Shelley’s Rolling Shell-ebration and participate in the Egg-Splore-N-Find.

The Easter Bunny will be located at the zoo’s Character Cottage at Habitat Hollow in the North America Region. Kids can visit for photos from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The zoo says advanced registrations are all booked, but guests will be able to enter a stand-by line.

Outside of the Lakeside Pavilion, Eggbert, Shelley, Yolko and Oh-No will be available for meet and greets. The “Rolling Shell-ebration” adventure follows the characters through the zoo on the Character Express.

Instead of a normal egg hunt, the zoo hosts Egg-Splore-N-Find where character ambassadors, Sydnee Koala, Patriot Eagle, Cali Sea Lion, Tommy C. Turtle, Max Elephant and Manny Manatee, decorated eggs and hid them in spots throughout the zoo.

Kids who want to participate in the event should grab an activity map at the tent just inside the zoo’s turnstiles.  Once all the eggs are located, guests can stop by the prize tent in Entry Village to receive a "hen"-tastic prize while supplies last.
