Ohio State spring game: How to watch, what you need to know

The Buckeyes will take the field at noon at Ohio Stadium on April 13.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Buckeyes spring game is right around the corner.

The Buckeyes will take the field at noon at Ohio Stadium on April 13.

What channel can I watch the game on?

The Ohio State spring game will be aired on FOX. The announcer for the game is still undecided but network analyst Joel Klatt confirmed he would be at the game, according to the university.

Where can I buy tickets to the game?

Tickets can be found here. General admission tickets start at $10 with club seats beginning at $55.

Where to park for spring game?

All parking is free for the spring game and is available on a first come, first serve basis.

The northeast lot at Ohio Stadium is free to the public. The closest parking garage is the Tuttle Garage, located east of the stadium.

A map of all parking around campus for the game can be seen here.

Construction issues

Continued construction along Cannon Drive will have impact on the route into and out of the West Stadium and South French Fieldhouse parking lots this stadium.

Cannon Drive is closed completely to through traffic in both directions near the Towers. When entering campus, you should exit 315 at Lane Avenue or Ackerman and proceed to Woody Hayes Drive to access these lots.

After the game, exiting traffic will be directed toward Woody Hayes Drive, rather than down Cannon Drive. Check out this construction map showing the road closure.

What to expect

There are plenty of storylines to pay attention to before the season begins but the biggest one is who will be the starting quarterback?

Kyle McCord entered the transfer portal and landed in Syracuse shortly after Ohio State's loss to Michigan.

Among the contenders include:

  • Will Howard, who played four seasons at Kansas State before entering the transfer portal
  • Devin Brown, last year's backup QB who got injured in the Cotton Bowl
  • Lincoln Kienholz, who filled in for Brown in the Cotton Bowl
  • Air Noland, a four-star recruit out of Georgia
  • Julian Sayin, who transferred to Ohio State from Alabama after Nick Saban's retirement

Beyond the difficulty of evaluating five quarterbacks, the situation also begs the question of how many of them will be satisfied sitting on the bench for any length of time at Ohio State, especially with all the NIL money available for star quarterbacks at other places?

New Buckeyes

The spring game will also be the first time fans will see some new faces. Besides the quarterbacks, Alabama safety Caleb Downs and center Seth McLaughlin joined Ohio State through the transfer portal as well as Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins.

Familiar faces

Despite Ohio State losing some firepower, especially with the departure of Marvin Harrison Jr., many Buckeyes are returning. Here's who is returning for another year:

  • WR Emeka Egbuka
  • CB Denzel Burke
  • DT Ty Hamilton
  • CB Jordan Hancock
  • RB TreVeyon Henderson
  • OL Donovan Jackson
  • S Lathan Ransom
  • DE Jack Sawyer
  • DE JT Tuimoloau
  • DL Tyleik Williams

Ohio State 4 Miler

During the spring game weekend, fans will be able to participate in “Finish on the 50” as the Ohio State 4 Miler returns to the stadium. The run and walk celebration will be held the day after the game on April 14.

Those who register for the 4 Miler will receive a ticket to the spring game in addition to a Nike race shirt and official finisher’s medal. You can find more information here.
