Columbus Crew Fire Head Coach

The Columbus Crew is parting ways with head coach Robert Warzycha.

The Columbus Crew announced Monday that they are replacing head coach Robert Warzycha after five years.

Technical Director Brian Bliss was named the interim head coach.

This year, Warzycha led the Crew to a 8-13-5 record. The team is in eighth place in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference.

“This is a difficult decision that has not been taken lightly,” said Crew President & General Manager Mark McCullers in news release.

Bliss, a former Crew player, has been Technical Director for the club for six years.

“It is with mixed emotions that I accept this position,” said Crew Interim Head Coach Brian Bliss. “Robert is a true professional and a close friend, and I will personally miss working with him.”
