The congregation of a Hocking County church that burned came together to remember what the church stood for.

Investigators said that someone set fire to South Bloomingville Christian Church in Hocking County.

Bishop Scott Davis welcomed his parishioners into South Bloomingville Christian Church.

The floor is charred black and it's now missing it's walls.

The bishop said he thought the church was the target of a hate crime because the church openly accepts gays and lesbians.

As authorities continue to investigate the fire, residents said losing this church has impacted the whole community.

"There isn't anybody that's not saddened by that church being burned down. I mean it's the pride of our community and stuff,” said resident Clyde Burgess

Authorities ruled the fire arson. No one has been charged.
