A man charged with one count of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor was held in jail on $7,500 bond.

Police arrested James A. Mills, 71, after authorities executed a search warrant at his Flint Ridge Drive home Thursday morning.

In court on Friday, prosecutors said that Mills told investigators that he was a nudist who loved the human body.

Prosecutors said that Mills invited minors into his home to play "nude games," such as Checkers. Mills allegedly let runaways into his house and played these type of games with them as many as seven times a day.

They said he even had the boys perform sex acts in exchange for marijuana. He also allegedly offered them wine.

Neighbors told 10TV News on Thursday that there was frequent activity around Mills' home

"There was always an underlying suspicion for years and years and years that something was going on,” said Holly Sharp.

Neighbors said that Mills took his love for nudity too far because children were allegedly involved.

“I think that as an adult, he has the right to do whatever he wants to with his own body, but I don't think that anyone has the right to expose a child, a minor to that,” added Sharp

Police said that two teen runaways tipped off investigators.

Gahanna Lt. Jeff Spence said after the boys were found, they talked about what happened to them while they were on the run. They told detectives that Mills coerced them into performing a sex act.

Neighbors are thankful the tipsters came forward.

“Whoever that was helped this case that's been going on for years and years and years and they've brought a sense of relief and a sense of safety to a whole community,” added Sharp.

Spence also said there were doors with barricades and extra locks in Mills home. Investigators now believe other children may be involved.

Gahanna police said anyone having any information about possible alleged victims of Mills, who served as a volunteer/part time Mifflin Township firefighter in the 1980s, should contact the Gahanna Police Detective Bureau at 614-342-4240.

Police say they have identified numerous minors who have frequented Mills' home in the past and are attempting to interview them.
