COLUMBUS - A murder suspect wanted in Columbus for a Memorial Day murder is now behind bars in Indiana.
The Allen County Indiana Jail confirms that Michael Javon Merchant is in police custody in Fort Wayne.
Columbus Police issued a warrant for Merchant in connection with a murder on Memorial Day earlier this year. Police say Merchant was in the same car as the victim when he shot him. Officers found 25-year-old Dante Aaron Goodman lying on the side of the E. 16th street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Indiana jail confirms Merchant is waiting to be extradited back to Ohio.
