Southwest Airlines announces 2 new nonstop flights from Columbus to San Diego, Kansas City

A weekly service to both destinations will begin in June and can be booked through Southwest’s website.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Travelers in Columbus will soon see two new nonstop flight options from Southwest Airlines.

The airline announced that next summer it will offer direct flights to San Diego International Airport and Kansas City International Airport. Both stops are considered among the top destinations for Columbus travelers, according to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.

Weekly service to both destinations will begin in June and can be booked through Southwest’s website.

“Two of the largest unserved destinations for Columbus travelers will now be served nonstop thanks to Southwest Airlines’ new flights to San Diego and Kansas City,” said Joseph R. Nardone, president & CEO of the CRAA. “We’re grateful to this valued airline partner for providing access to these popular cities for travel and tourism.”

These nonstop flight additions bring Columbus’ total to 53 nonstop destinations. The additions come as traffic through the John Glenn Columbus International Airport is increasing.

The Columbus airport now offers the most destinations ever available to travelers.
