COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A small yet important reminder for those who drive through downtown Columbus every day.

Monday, the city officially dedicated Rosa Parks Way -- a stretch of High Street between Broad and Gay.

The ceremony is part of a Black History Month commemoration hosted by Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, The Ohio State University and the Central Ohio Transit Authority.

"By taking a seat, Rosa Parks stood up for millions of Americans and we can never forget that monumental step she took," Rep. Beatty said during the dedication ceremony.

Rep. Beatty says whenever someone drives by Rosa Parks Way in Downtown Columbus, she wants them to think about that day in 1955.
