The storms left behind substantial damage in several areas around the state, including Logan and Delaware counties.

OHIO, USA — Parts of central Ohio were hit hard by severe weather Thursday evening into the night, bringing strong winds, hail and tornadoes.

The storms left behind substantial damage in several areas around the state and at least three people are confirmed dead in Logan County.

The storms started in western Ohio where several tornado warnings were issued. Photos from Logan and Delaware counties show what appears to be a structures completely torn apart and downed trees.

Indian Lake, a community in Logan County, appeared to take heavy damage from the storm, even prompting the school district to cancel classes on Friday.

Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds said that downed trees, gas leaks, fires and fallen power lines have prevented first responders from accessing certain areas where assistance may be needed.

Indian Lake Schools will be open as a shelter for those whose homes sustained damage in the storm.
