OSHP captures inmate worker who escaped Pickaway County Jail

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate worker who walked away from work at the Pickaway County Jail Wednesday morning.

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio - The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate worker who walked away from the Pickaway County Jail Wednesday morning is now back in custody.

The escape happened around 5 a.m. at 600 Island Rd, Circleville.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers found Steven E. Stephenson around 11 Wednesday night in the area of US 23 and Countyline Road in northern Ross County. They responded to that area after a driver reported a suspicious person in the area.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office took Stephenson back into custody and took him back to the Pickaway County Jail.

Stephenson was incarcerated for a violation of probation.
