Newly-obtained documents shed light on OSU fraternity investigations

The school investigated Tau Kappa Epsilon, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Chi, Kappa Sigma, Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

COLUMBUS -- Allegations of drugging, underage drinking and hazing prompted The Ohio State University to punish six fraternities. That's according to new OSU documents obtained by 10TV.

The school investigated Tau Kappa Epsilon, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Chi, Kappa Sigma, Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Tau Kappa Epsilon has been suspended through 2020. The group was accused of giving a so-called "date rape drug" to a student and creating an environment that supported students being drugged. They were also accused of not stopping underage drinking and failing to keep guests away from dangerous activities.

The other five fraternities are on probation through the end of 2018 or 2019.

Last November, OSU suspended most fraternities after reports that 11 organizations were under investigation.

In December, OSU sent a letter to those fraternities outlining a path to being reinstated.
