New owners of longtime Clintonville staple assure shoppers no major changes are coming

Starting April 1, Daniel Phillips and Andy Russell will officially be the new owners of the longtime Clintvonville staple.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — It's the final month for Weiland's Market's current owners, Jennifer Williams and Scott Bowman. Starting April 1, Daniel Phillips and Andy Russell will officially be the new owners of the longtime Clintvonville staple.

"We just want to continue what Weilands has always been," said new co-owner Andy Russell.

Weiland’s Market, a grocery store located at 3600 Indianola Ave., has served the Clintonville and Beechwold communities since its opening in 1961.

Jennifer and Scott bought the store from John Williams, Jennifer’s dad, in 2010 and since then, the two said they have been hands-on owners, devoting their time and energy to the business.

They said their reason for selling boils down to not having time for much else and being ready for the next chapter.

Both Russell and Phillips are longtime store managers and know they have big shoes to fill. While they have plans for the future, Phillips reassured shoppers that they don't plan to make any major changes.

"We don't foresee any big changes but we will continue to get in new items and bring in cool stuff. We really just want to keep up with things. We're going to underpromise and overdeliver!" said Phillips.
