OSHP: Motorcyclist killed in Fairfield County crash

The motorcyclist struck a van as it attempted to turn into a driveway, OSHP says.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County Monday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on County Road 45 in Greenfield Township around 12:45 p.m.

OSHP says 44-year-old Dean Kiger, of Lancaster, was driving a Zhejiang Leike Machine Industry Co. motorcycle eastbound and a Ram ProMaster 3500 was headed in the opposite direction. Officials say Kiger struck the Ram as it attempted to turn into a driveway.

Kiger was pronounced dead on the scene just before 1 p.m., according to OSHP. 

The crash remains under investigation.
