OSHP: Juvenile dies after horse and buggy crash in Fairfield County

The crash remains under investigation.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A juvenile is dead after a car hit a horse and buggy in Fairfield County Sunday evening.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said that around 5:50 p.m., a Ford F-350 was traveling westbound on Township Road 322 in Lancaster. A horse and buggy was traveling eastbound on Township Road 322 when the F-350 hit the horse.

The horse and buggy traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.

A passenger in the horse and buggy, identified as Klayton Coblentz, died of his injuries after the crash. Richland Township fire officials told 10TV that Coblentz was a juvenile, but did not provide an age. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Rushcreek Township Fire Department and Pleasant Township Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
