Man dies after fight, Columbus police looking for suspect

Police said Marvin Darity is charged with murder and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police said a warrant for the arrest of a suspect has been issued after a man died following a fight.

Police said 64-year-old Louis Rucker, 56-year-old Marvin Darity and others were drinking near the 1000 block of Mediterranean Avenue, just northwest of I-71 and State Route 161, on July 2 when an argument started.

Darity punched Rucker and Rucker fell onto the ground where he was unresponsive, according to police.

Police said witnesses called 911 and officers responded just before 10:15 p.m.

Rucker was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder charge is filed against Darity.
