Lower.com Field hosting US women’s national soccer team championship, 3rd place matches

Four squads will compete in the final round in Columbus following the semifinals with the U.S. vs. Japan and Brazil vs. Canada.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the second time since Lower.com Field opened in 2021, the United States women’s national soccer team will be competing in Columbus for the SheBelieves Cup.

U.S. Soccer announced that the Columbus Crew and Lower.com Field will host the championship and third place matches on Tuesday. This is the 12th time they have played in Columbus since 1993, making nine appearances at Historic Crew Stadium.

Four squads will compete in the final round in Columbus following the semifinals with the U.S. vs. Japan and Brazil vs. Canada.

The USWNT match against Brazil or Canada is set to kick off at 7 p.m.

Japan and the team not matching up against USWNT will open the doubleheader at 4 p.m.

“This is a tournament that features three teams already in the Olympics and Japan having a great chance to qualify, so coming off the Gold Cup, these are the exact kinds of games we need to evaluate players and continue to push our team as we prepare for France,” said U.S. interim head coach Twila Kilgore.
