Police: Adult struck by vehicle while riding scooter near Ohio State

The crash happened at North High Street and West Northwood Avenue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — An adult was seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter near The Ohio State University overnight, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Around midnight, police said an adult was on a scooter heading south on North High Street as he approached the intersection of West Northwood Avenue.

At the same time, a dark-colored vehicle was heading northbound on North High Street while entering the same intersection. The vehicle turned left and collided with the adult. The vehicle did not stay at the scene.

Police said the adult suffered serious injuries and was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to survive their injuries.
