COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police say one person has died following a shooting in north Columbus.
According to police, it happened Monday just before 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 17th Avenue.
Officers found Jermar Watters, 32, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Ohio State University Hospital in critical condition and later was pronounced dead.
Authorities learned that Kevin Johnson and Watters were involved in an altercation when Johnson shot Watters.
Police issued a warrant for Johnson's arrest on a murder charge. He is not in custody at this time.
According to a release obtained from Columbus police, there were two other victims involved including a 52-year-old and 9-year-old. The release did not say if those victims were injured.
