Police identify victim killed in northeast Columbus shooting; 2 suspects arrested

Police are still investigating what led up to the shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two men were arrested and charged Tuesday in connection to the death of a 24-year-old man in northeast Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, 29-year-old Terrell Thomas and 27-year-old Kiante Lee are charged with murder following a shooting early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the 2700 block of Brentnell Avenue, located south of Agler Road, at 12:10 a.m. for the shooting. When they arrived, they found Dedrick Robinson who was shot in the head, according to Franklin County Municipal Court documents.

Robinson was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Court records state that at 12:08 a.m., Robinson and another person were outside of a townhome on Brentnell Avenue when Robison fired a shot into another unit. 

Shortly after, Lee and Thomas came outside and exchanged gunfire with Robinson. One of the rounds struck Robinson in the head. 

Lee and Thomas are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.,
