DELAWARE, Ohio — A member of the Ohio National Guard was charged with several counts of rape in Delaware County.
An indictment filed in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas states that 39-year-old Steven Vicario, of Delaware, was charged with three counts of rape and one count each of gross sexual imposition and tampering with evidence.
The charges stemmed from an incident on Oct. 13, 2022, and another on Nov. 5, 2023. The incidents involved a minor.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested Vicario on April 19 without incident. He is currently being held in the Delaware County jail.
Vicario appeared in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $500,000.
The Ohio National Guard told 10TV that Vicario is a lieutenant colonel. He is a drilling Guardsman and works full-time as a federal technician.
