30-year-old Knox County man pleads guilty to possessing, distributing child sexual abuse images

He was sentenced in April 2018 to 78 months in prison for distributing child sexual abuse images of pre-school-aged children.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 30-year-old Knox County man pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Lee Allen Goudy is a repeat sex offender, according to U.S. Attorney Kenneth Parker’s office. He was sentenced in April 2018 to six and a half years in prison for distributing child sexual abuse images of pre-school-aged children.

Since he is a repeat offender, he will face a prison sentence of at least 15 years and up to 40 years in prison for his current offense.

Court documents say that in August 2023, the FBI received a tip that Goudy was a Tier II registered sex offender and was believed to have uploaded child sexual abuse images and videos online.

An investigation revealed that he had distributed the material from a Reddit account via Kik messenger and on Twitter. He used the same email address to trade images that he used in his prior federal conviction.

According to Parker’s office, approximately 650 videos and 100 images of child sexual abuse material were found on his phone. The material included sexual abuse of infants and toddlers and the sexual torture of babies.

Goudy’s phone search history included web searches like “supervised release monitoring iPhone” and “does federal monitoring work on iPhone,” a release says.

A second cellphone revealed searches for content related to violence, rape and sex acts against infants and toddlers. That phone also reportedly revealed 150 images of child sexual abuse material that Goudy traded on Discord.

He was arrested in September 2023 for violating his federal supervised release warrant.
