Police: 1 critically injured in north Columbus shooting that may have stemmed from road rage

Police said the shooting victim is expected to survive their injuries.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is seriously injured following a shooting in north Columbus Wednesday evening, police said.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police received a report of a shooting in the area of Morse Road and Cleveland Avenue around 6:35 p.m.

Police said the victim drove themselves to the 3600 block of Morse Road where officers located them inside a vehicle.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. They are expected to survive their injuries. 

Police said this may have been the result of a road rage incident.

Professor of Communications at Ohio State University Brad Bushman studies aggression and violence and said there is an increase in road rage incidents nationwide.

Bushman offered several tips to consider if you encounter an aggressive driver, including taking deep breaths, listening to calming music and not engaging with the aggressive driver.
