6 Indicted In Million-Dollar Jewelry Heist

Six men were indicted Thursday in federal court on charges stemming from the million-dollarrobbery of a jewelry merchant in Westerville.

Each man faces one count of conspiracy and one count of interfering with interstate commerce,the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

The charges stem from the April 3 robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Fazoli'sRestaurant, located on South Street near Interstate 270.

Police said a jewelry merchant from Indiana became lost while trying to make his way to EastonTown Center and pulled into the restaurant's parking lot to check his directions. Shortly afterparking his SUV, police said that at least three men attacked the vehicle.

According to the indictment, one of the men broke the SUV's window while two others grabbed twosuitcases containing more than $1 million in jewelry.

"It was sort of blitz-style attack coordinated through the driver's window and also through theback of the vehicle," Westerville police Cpl. Jon Bagwell said earlier this month.

Three days later, a collaboration of law enforcement agencies arrested the six men in New Jerseyand recovered items stolen from the merchant, 10TV News reported.

The indictment alleges that the group of men traveled to Columbus on April 1 in order to rob themerchant, who was attending a jewelry show at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.

The U.S. Attorney's Office identified the six men as:

- Oscar Ferero, 26, of Los Angeles
- Fernando Patino Cruz, 25, of Los Angeles
- Yhariel Allesandro Roverando-Mondragon, 38, address unknown
- Kevin Ismael Miranda, 29, of Los Angeles
- Donald Jose Bonilla-Canales, 34, address unknown
- Bernardo Sanchez-Perez, 35, of Los Angeles
