Driver killed in crash involving SUV on I-670 East ramp to I-270 South

​The ramp was closed for several hours while crews were working on the investigation.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed when an SUV crashed into a bridge pillar on the Interstate 670 exit ramp to I-270 in Mifflin Township late Monday night, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office

The sheriff's office said just before 11:35 p.m., a 2017 Toyota Rav4 left the roadway and traveled into the gore between I-270 and the exit ramp from I-670 East to I-270 South.

The Toyota continued through the gore and struck the bridge pillars before coming to a rest against the last pillar.

Deputies and medics responded to the scene and found the driver unresponsive, who was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m.

The sheriff's office has not released the identity of the driver. 

The ramp was closed for several hours while crews were working on the investigation. As of 5 a.m., all but one lane on the ramp has reopened.
