10 Things To Know: Michigan State vs. Ohio State

This is the third night game for the Buckeyes this year.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — How are there only three regular season games left?

It's been quite a season for the Ohio State Buckeyes who currently hold the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The defense is playing at an elite level while Marvin Harrison Jr. is on the brink of Buckeye history.

Here's this week's 10 Things To Know.

  1. The Buckeyes have beaten Michigan State for seven straight years since a 17-14 win by the Spartans in Columbus in 2015.
  2. This is the 34th game wearing an alternate uniform and the first scarlet-on-all-gray combination for the Buckeyes.
  3. Ohio State has a record of 26-7 in its alternate uniforms since first wearing them in 2009 vs. Michigan (a 21-10 win).
  4. Kyle McCord completed his final seven passing attempts against Wisconsin and his first 11 vs. Rutgers to set a new school record of 18 consecutive completions over two games.
  5. The Buckeyes have yet to allow more than 17 points in a game and the unit is Top 5 in defensive scoring, passing and total offense.
  6. Marvin Harrison Jr. is just 86 yards away from becoming the first wide receiver to have two 1,000-yard receiving seasons at Ohio State.
  7. Harrison Jr. has 140 career receptions, good for 10th at Ohio State and tied with Santonio Holmes.
  8. Ohio State is 5-0 all-time in November night games played outside with wins over Rutgers, Nebraska, Minnesota, Michigan State and Illinois.
  9. A win Saturday would earn Ohio State its 30th 10-or-more win season in school history, good for fourth all-time in FBS history.
  10. Ohio State has been ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings all 55 weeks of the rankings. Alabama is the only other school with such a streak.
