Police: Man Charged For Child Porn Had Cameras Installed Throughout Home, Lock On Bedroom Door

Authorities said they are fearful that there are more victims after a man arrested on child pornography charges was found with cameras, locks, and barricades in his home.

Police arrested a man for having child pornography at his home early Thursday morning, but authorities said a search of his home revealed much more.

Gahanna police arrested James A. Mills, 71, for pandering child pornography after authorities executed a search warrant at his Flint Ridge Drive home early Thursday morning.

Neighbors said there was constant activity around Mills’ home.

"Just being in the backyard, I have noticed younger children coming in and out of the house,” said neighbor Jessica Jones.

Jones babysits across the street and said people would ask about the boys spending time at Mills’ house.

"I had heard that he has told other people that he was more of a big brother to these children,” said Jones.

Police said that it was two teens who were runaways who tipped off investigators.

Gahanna Lt. Jeff Spence said after the boys were found, they talked about what happened to them while they were on the run. They told detectives that Mills coerced them into performing a sex act.

Police said they immediately got a search warrant for the house and an arrest warrant Mills.

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning SWAT teams entered the home and found cameras everywhere.

“These cameras were surveillance type cameras that would be used for security purposes, however, they were concealed inside interior rooms of the home,” said Spence.

Spence also said there were doors with barricades and extra locks.

Investigators now believe other children may be involved.

“I don't live here, but I have certainly seen the boys come in and out so it doesn't surprise me at all,” said Jones.

Gahanna police said anyone having any information about possible alleged victims of Mills should contact the Gahanna Police Detective Bureau at 614-342-4240.

Mills was charged with Pandering Sexually Oriented Material Involving a Minor.

Police say they have identified numerous minors who have frequented Mills' home in the past and are attempting to interview them.
