COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is indicted on charges of ethnic intimidation and aggravated menacing after threatening his neighbor's life and using offensive, racial language.

Fifty-one-year-old Michael Millay was charged on June 6 for an incident that accused Millay of allegedly threatening his neighbor based on their race.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says Millay "threatened his neighbor's life using offensive racial remarks in front of her two young grandchildren."

According to a complaint filed to the Franklin County Municipal Court, Millay threatened to "throw a bottle with fire in it."

Millay continued to make threats while in the custody of Whitehall police. The misdemeanor charge was then upgraded to a felony, according to O'Brien.

Millay will be arraigned on the two charges on June 24.
