2 rescued from under bridge pillar by Scioto River at downtown Columbus

The two people were sleeping under the bridge and got caught by the water.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two people were rescued after they were stranded under a bridge pillar in the Scioto River Tuesday morning.

An official at the scene told 10TV that the two were sleeping under the bridge and got caught by the water.

The two were rescued by boat from the Columbus Division of Fire. No injuries were reported and the two walked away from the river.

Franklin County is under a River Flood Warning because of the high water in the Scioto River.
