NEWARK, Ohio - A man is charged with attempted murder after Newark police said he stabbed and beat his father.
Police said they responded to the 500 block of Seroco Avenue around 5:20 p.m. Friday after they were notified about a possible assault.
Officers forced entry into the home when no one answered the door.
Police said they were familiar with the home because they had responded there over the past couple of weeks.
65-year-old Walter McClintock was found inside suffering from injuries from a beating and stab wounds.
He was flown to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers found and arrested 26-year-old Jonathon McClintock of Newark for the crime. He was taken to the Licking County Justice Center.
In addition to attempted murder, Jonathon McClintock is charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
