Police: Juvenile injured in west Columbus shooting

The Columbus Division of Police is working to learn what led up to the shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A juvenile is injured after a shooting on the city's west side early Saturday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Canonby Place in the South Franklinton neighborhood around 12:15 a.m. on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. In an update Saturday morning, police did not provide a condition, but said the victim was stabilized.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting. No suspect information has been released at this time.
