Police identify 16-year-old boy killed in west Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police have identified the person killed in a shooting in west Columbus on Thursday as a 16-year-old boy.

Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive around 8:30 p.m.

Police said Hussein Osman Abdi was found inside an apartment building in a hallway. Franklin Township medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police are looking for a possible suspect.

This is the 32nd homicide in Columbus in 2020.
