When it comes to that perfect smile, central Ohio orthodontists hope they’ll see people grinning ear to ear in pink.

And 130 kids are smiling with pink teeth so far in central Ohio.

During the entire month of October, for every patient who requests pink bands for their braces at three central Ohio orthodontics offices in Columbus, the practice will donate $5 to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. The Stefanie Spielman Fund at OSU helps further support breast cancer research and aids in finding a cure.

“We have been deeply touched by this cause, and are determined to do our part for our global community to find a cure” says Dr. James T. Hutta. “We know so many families affected by this disease, and feel we have found a great way to help. We love that our patients are rallying around this cause and so many of them have requested a pink smile to do their part in the fight.”

This is the second year for the Pink Smiles program. The three practices taking part this year are Hutta & Hutta Orthodontics, Hutta & Cook Orthodontics, and James T. Hutta Orthodontics.

Last year, 500 patients helped raise more than $2500 for the cause.

“We are so excited to have our practice involved in this year’s Pink Smiles campaign,” says Dr. J. Lawrence Hutta. “We really wanted to do something to help make a difference.”

The Pink Smiles campaign runs through the end of October, and will return every October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We are so happy to help our many patients and friends impacted by this illness” says Dr. Brandon Cook of Hutta & Cook Orthodontics.
