Police: 7-year-old boy missing from Columbus' east side found safe

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police said a 7-year-old boy who was reported missing Thursday has been found. 

Police said Kingston Gillyard was found safe. Additional information was not provided.

Columbus police are searching for a missing 7-year-old boy from the city's east side after his non-custodial mother refused to provide his location to authorities.

Police said Kingston Gillyard has been kept from his custodial parent by his non-custodial mother, Shadasia Gillyard. Shadasia was arrested by the U.S. Marshals and the Columbus Division of Police on Thursday afternoon for failing to appear in court for a charge of felonious assault.

Authorities describe this as an "endangered missing" case.

Police said Kingston has black hair, brown eyes, weighs 55 pounds and is just over three feet tall.
